Important Update: Changes to Our Services at Mid City Digital

Over the past several years, we’ve been proud to provide a full range of services to support your online presence, including website design, maintenance, hosting, and domain registration.

To better serve our clients and focus on what we do best—creating beautiful, high-performing websites and providing ongoing WordPress maintenance and support—we’ve made the decision to concentrate our efforts exclusively on website design and maintenance services.

As part of this shift, we will be phasing out our web hosting and domain registration services effective November 30, 2026. After that date, any sites or domains still hosted or registered through us will no longer be supported and may be terminated.

NOTE: If your hosting renews on an annual basis between now and the November deadline, we will be issuing pro-rated credit to your account to make up your cost difference. If your hosting renews month to month, it will no longer renew after November 30, 2026. Credit added to your account will be automatically applied to your next invoice(s) whether it is for hosting, domains, or maintenance services.

We want to give you plenty of time to make a smooth transition, which is why we’re sharing this news well in advance.

What this means for you:

We’re truly grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us and value the relationships we’ve built. This change allows us to double down on delivering exceptional website design and maintenance services, so we can continue supporting your digital success in the areas where we excel most.

If you have any questions, need recommendations for new hosting providers, or would like help with the transfer (specifically for WordPress sites), please don’t hesitate to reply to this email or reach out. We’re committed to making this transition easy for you. We will send out another reminder email in a few months as the phase-out date draws closer.

Thank you again for being part of the Mid City Digital family—we look forward to continuing to work with you on your websites!

Best regards,

FAQ: Our Transition to Website Design & Maintenance Focus

We’re shifting our primary services to website design and maintenance at Mid City Digital, and as a result, we’ll phase out web hosting and domain registration by November 30, 2026. We’ve provided plenty of advance notice so you can plan a smooth transition. Below are answers to the questions we anticipate you may have.

1. Why is Mid City Digital phasing out hosting and domain services?

To allow us to focus on our core strengths—delivering exceptional website design, WordPress development, ongoing maintenance, updates, security, and performance optimization—we’ve decided to specialize in these areas. This change helps us provide even better support and innovative solutions for your websites.

2. What happens if I don’t transfer my site or domain by November 30, 2026?

After that date, we will no longer support or renew hosting accounts or domain registrations through Mid City Digital. Your website may become inaccessible, and your domain could expire or be released if not transferred/renewed elsewhere. To avoid any disruption, we strongly recommend completing your transfer well before the deadline.

3. How do I transfer my website to a new host?

  • For WordPress sites: Contact us directly—we’re happy to help guide or handle the migration process for you at no extra charge (or a minimal fee depending on complexity). Please Login to Your Account and Create a Support Ticket, or contact us at support@midcitydigital.com to discuss your options.
  • For other platforms: Most web hosts (e.g., SiteGround, Bluehost, WP Engine, Hostinger, GoDaddy) offer migration tools or free/low-cost assisted transfers. You can provide them access to your current files/database via FTP or cPanel, and they’ll move everything over. Start by signing up with a new host and initiating the transfer.

4. How do I transfer my domain to a new registrar?

We’ve created a step-by-step guide in our Knowledgebase: [https://midcitydigital.com/knowledgebase/domain-transfer-guide].

In short:

  • Unlock your domain (if locked).
  • Get the authorization code (EPP code) from your Mid City Digital account.
  • Provide it to your new registrar (e.g., Name Hero, Namecheap, Google Domains, Porkbun, GoDaddy, etc).
  • The process usually takes 5–7 days and doesn’t interrupt your website if DNS settings remain pointed correctly during the transfer. If you need help, we’re available to walk you through it.

5. Will my website go down during the transfer?

Minimal to no downtime is possible if handled properly:

  • Transfer your site files/database first while keeping your domain pointed to us.
  • Once the new host confirms everything works, update your domain’s nameservers to point to the new host. DNS changes can take 24–48 hours to fully propagate, but tools like Cloudflare can help reduce this. We recommend testing on the new host before making the switch final.

6. What about my email accounts tied to my domain?

Email is separate from hosting. If your email uses your domain (e.g., info@yourbusiness.com), transfer your domain first and set up email accounts with your new host or a dedicated provider like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or Zoho Mail. We can advise on options if needed.

7. Do you recommend any new hosting providers?

Name Hero is our top recommendation – Our current domain/hosting services are built on their network. They have a variety of hosting and domain options, the same familiar cPanel backend, and their support staff is top tier. — Click Here to get started.

Additional hosting services you might consider (we don’t have official partnerships with these), include the following:

  • NameCheap (particularly geared towards affordable domains, but also offers competitive hosting packages)
  • SiteGround or WP Engine (great for WordPress).
  • Cloudways or Kinsta (managed and performant).
  • Bluehost or HostGator (budget-friendly with easy migrations). Choose based on your needs (traffic, budget, support).

8. Will Mid City Digital still support my website after the transition?

Absolutely! We remain fully committed to our design and maintenance clients. If your site is on WordPress (or we built/maintain it), we’ll continue providing updates, security monitoring, backups, speed optimizations, and more—just as before. Simply add us as an authorized admin user/team member on your new hosting account — contact us when you’re ready and we’ll walk you through the steps for whichever hosting platform you choose.

9. What if I have questions or need personalized help?

We’re here for you! Login to Your Account and Create a Support Ticket, or contact us at support@midcitydigital.com. We will guide you every step of the way, especially for WordPress transfers.

10. Is there a deadline reminder or follow-up plan?

Yes—we’ll send periodic reminders (e.g., 6 months, 3 months, 1 month out) and check in individually if we don’t hear back. The sooner you start, the smoother it will be.

Thank you for your understanding and partnership. This transition lets us serve you better in the areas that matter most—your website’s look, feel, and performance.

We appreciate you and look forward to continuing our work together!
